WORLD FORMATION: PLAY IN THREE ACTS
When This Ship Sailed
When this ship sailed we were so small
We run in wonder with it all
We see parades ride down the wall
And we could fly and lightly fall
This long long passage set the task
To touch and love the one we ask
To wash away the funhouse mask
And lift the kernel from the husk
The whirlpool where we launched our course
Is turned to gardens and a house
You deep moving glorious
Bring home the boat that carries us

1965: Saw three lit windows and realized that the Two, which make up our entire phenomenal world of bifurcation, parent the transmuted, loving, and formed One, the Renewed World, our precious child.
So every action we take, be it ever so laborious, can be popped open to find a potent fruitful act of love.
We embody possibilities of Omnifertile Nothing. God Itself is enduring all the pain, to make reality from revery by living the dream It creates as an actuality. It must become amnesiac to do this, to play hide-and-seek with Itself, to receive as well as impart, to multiply.
Phase One: We start as an O ceanic Consciousness, a very nuclear family, with beautiful tuning, total Love and absolute security---which are nothing to hold onto because they can never be lost.
Phase Two: This world.
Humankind heads the curving drive into Phase Three. Our primary Consciousness filters through our world, the revelation of its presence pulling us along whether we will it or whether we nil it, towards the universal attainment of spiritual awareness, the Renewed World. We’re not just getting lessons from a know-it-all, a No-it-all, we’re learning as we go. We are God the baby in the world.
Time isn’t linear, all of it existing at once in God’s reality, which is Beingness ever expanding; the future influences the present, the whole picture comes into focus together, the completeness of Stage Three is enacted, and so “the present becomes the future.” Then our sufferings are held nostalgically, compassionately, as the Supreme Play. We can visit this stage right now in meditative contact and spiritual living.
It’s all together at once, things melt away to what’s really always here, it’s all one swirling process even if described in segments, in our sense of separation we’re not lacking, God’s actuality sustains us, propels us.
In our level beyond form, everything’s harmonious, unshaped and unruled, joyful, imperturbable while compassionate. In our forgetful times things seem to reverse: controlled by stacks of laws, banished, conflicting, inspired, outreaching. In our rejoined awareness we slip all constraints, everything returns: again harmonious, radiant, peaceful, godly, and now filled with embodied truths, all our soulful tears turned to living waters, with infinitely differing individuals interwaving, cooperative and free, loving in abundant profusion of shapes, Sacred Relationship in Oneness.
Dream: A Guest visiting at this grand residential hotel, to whom we defer, buys meals for all. Exquisite appetizers, persian melon with cheese, and desserts, rum napoleons, lie ready on carts. But we have to wait for the main course, which is the needed middle course of coming into expression, to wheel in, before we begin to feast.
The Passover matzoh ritual: In a stack of three, the middle matzoh is broken in half. This suffering layer is the Second Phase, which put together at the end of the meal brings redemption and fulfillment.
It’s easy as one, two, three.
Some layers of parable: In our journeying, the stairwells of the roadhouse, the night’s inn connect these three stages of world growth (equaling these last three sections of the book); we ascend and descend through our three levels of awareness; and likewise we link mind, heart and matter in our body. We climb up and down the ladder all the time.
No one is lost, the surviving “remnant third” predicted in the Bible is the third phase, re-membering all, reattaching the severed limbs to our Body. “The remnant third”: also, the spiritual level of awareness, the joining heart we’re all reaching towards, after the physical and mental (both holy) are absorbed within it.

The Way Out Is The Way Through

The lost Eden lies mythologically in the past, but is really found now in greater awareness, when by grace we see through the surface down to other levels uncovering God in all, when we shake and transmute and replenish everything, crowning it with our Self. Shalom, Sumerian, meaning perfected, complete. (The sound of inhale, exhale, one cycle. You can see the “L” shows the tip of our tongue ascending behind the roof of the mouth, lapping the sweet living waters of the pharynx, a Hindu meditative breathing position. Here’s the archaic common origin of Eastern and Western religion.) Perfect being is always changing, growing, evolving, and complete always now. All at once, right now, I am the Being before the beginning, I am the difficult becoming, and I am the Great Peace of shalom, completion. These are all awake in my soul. “Mystic,” from Greek “to close.” To close the eyes and lips, to bring the human phase to its fruition, its close. |

Since the spiritual universe is complete to behold, we are already living in it, As it. But we climb a winding staircase to become aware of it forever, to molt from caterpillar to butterfly, and celebrate in it all together.
Complete is not finished, not the End---we always continue to spiral outwards.
When We Return Home, It’s a Different Place
|
An unnamed prophet on a mission received a message in his meditation, that he must return home by a way different from the way he came. Mysteriously, an older man then came to him and tempted him, saying he’d gotten a new revelation for the prophet to return the very same way. So the prophet wavered, turned back to his former path, and he died. Yet Love brought him these lessons, raising him higher even after his visible life, for the older man was a prophet too, and planned to be buried alongside him. (I. Kings 13) Some meanings of the myth: First, this whole process doesn’t only go back to our underlying state of bliss (the way we came), but the shift in our own awareness transubstantiates present things, makes them new and leads them forth by a way different, past the edge of humanhood. When we get home, we’ve done more than circle about, we’re hitting the same note at the next octave, we’re climbing a ramp around a ziggurat tower, lifting us to a new level at “the same place.” Second, realize we don’t go by external authority; we follow the principles and guidance that we ourselves have received within. Third and last, Love forms the impetus and substance of all our difficult growth. We learn from our mistakes, we live out from principles, building the many mansions prepared for us from the beginning. |
Journey to Where We Are
Meditations and miracles engulf us in the spacious present moment. At these way stations, our meeting with the Renewed World is ever recurring. The universal unveiling, too, is in this supremely present moment. Here’s the paradox: Nowness progresses, Being is ever becoming. Our No Thingness of origin equals the destined fulfilled universe, both our Self. So we’re constantly O-pening, spiraling forth, and expressing (pushing out) through form. We travel easy when we journey to where we already always are.
God abides in the sublime bliss of our primary state of being, and at once with this abides in the ecstasy of our re-new world, unveiled in flashes now. In this utter holy beauty, there is no problem in us to see. We touch these places when we meditate. And at once with this, the Lover watches over our visions of hardship, embracing us all in Its heart.
