I HAVE 2 SCHIPPERKES RAMBO - 10 YEARS MORTISHA - 6 YEARS RAMBO HAS 2 BAD HEART VALVES, AN ENLARGED LIVER, AND RECENTLY WE FOUND HE HAD FLUID DRAINING INTO HIS LUNGS; HIS SPECIALIST TOLD US HE IS HIS OWN WORST ENEMY BECAUSE HE IS SUPPOSED TO KEEP QUITE; TRY KEEPING A SCHIPPERKE QUIET; WITH ALL HIS PROBLEMS HE IS DOING VERY WELL; THE SCHIPPERKES ARE CERTAINLY A VERY SPECIAL BREED; MORTISHA IS JUST THE OPPOSITE OF RAMBO; SHE IS VERY QUIET AND IS VERY CONTENT TO SPEND MOST OF HER DAY IN THE BEDROOM SLEEPING ON THE BED;

TUFF IS A VERY SPECIAL DOG AND POEM,THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT;WE HAVE OUR VERY FIRST SKIP NOW TWO YEARS OLD,SHE LIVES WITH HER TWO GERMAN SHEPHERD BUDDIES ONE, OF WHOM IS THE SAME AGE AND WHO SHE GREW UP WITH; SHE HAS NEVER KNOWN THAT THERE WAS A SIZE DIFFERENCE;ALTHOUGH WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SHEPHERD PEOPLE AND STILL LOVE THEM WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR A SECOND SKIP;STICKEEN(STICKY) FOR SHORT WAS NAMED AFTER JOHN MUIR'S FAMOUS STORY "STICKEEN" WROTE IN THE 1800'S; IF YOU HAVE NEVER READ IT ,PLEASE DO AND YOU WILL SEE THAT SKIPS ARE TRULY "A FREE SPIRIT"

I have a two year old LBD, named Holly; She is without a doubt the devil part of the LBD, but oh how sweet and loving she can be; She and our cat - about the same size as Holly - have a ball together; It gets a little rough once in a while, but overall, they are great buddies;

I read your poem about Tuffy and couldn't keep from crying; You see, I had a Schip named Pepper and she and I were a family; She protected me from everything and was the most devoted, intelligent dog I have ever seen; For many years, she was the only thing I had; She loved to work the horses and cows, thought it was fun; She got stepped on once by a mare but she never skipped a beat; She had a pup and his name was Bear and he was the perfect schip; Bear lived in the country with my dad; One day, someone shot him with a ;22 and left him lying in the road; I was crushed; Then, about 9 months later, Pepper went off "hunting" birds and my dad's place and someone shot and killed her--I can only suspect this because I never saw her again (her "buddies" she was with had buckshot in them but were okay); I was in a very deep depression for weeks; I still can't look at a picture of her without crying; I now have one of her last pups - Andy; He's not like Pepper , but he loves me the same; I just had to write and tell you how much your story touched me; Drop me an email sometime, maybe we can "talk dogs";
