I really enjoyed reading your poems; Some are funny, and some are very sweet; I especially loved the one about the girl you met who had golden hair like your horse; It was cute; You write really good poems, I just wanted to let you know; Sincerely; Brandi I really enjoyed reading your poems; Some are funny, and some are very sweet; I especially loved the one about the girl you met who had golden hair like your horse; It was cute; You write really good poems, I just wanted to let you know; Sincerely; Brandi

Your poems touch a chord somewhere deep inside; I started hunting when I was twelve years old and lived and breathed it until I enlisted and went through nearly four years of insanity-'65-'69; Got discharged in Oct;'69 and couldn't wait to go deer hunting; Saw a nice buck three hours into the season, drew a bead and wondered what the hell was I doing? Haven't even shot a woodchuck since then-get a lot more kick from watching them; Lost my ten-year old Schip to diabetes on Sunday night and can hardly stand coming home to no dog huffing in my ear (his favorite way of telling me he loved me); Have really enjoyed the web pages of other people's little captains and was glad to have seen your poems; People like you make up the small hard core of the real America that goes back to the mountain men, and that the New York liberals and feel-gooders will never know or even sense; I live in rural Pennsylvania and have that same mystic connection to the land that I feel in your writing; I, too, will always be a hunter (I have always thought that true hunters were born with a natural affinity and love for those they hunted), but I'll never kill another animal unless out of necessity or mercy; God give you the peace he's given me;
